We are putting more and more of an importance of having coins at C&T Auctions encapsulated and graded by NGC. We have seen a real increase in prices achieved when the coins are sold in this way. Where this was normally just reserved for modern coins, we are now sending most of our coins (subject to agreement with the vendor) to be put through this process as the value added is evident. Recent success with the Ouwehand Collection and Harborne Collection, offered in November 2023, has shown this to be the case, with some rare coins in fantastic condition leading the way. Notable sales in this department include a British India 1911 Proof Set selling for £19,000 and a GB Halfcrown collection of 55 coins totalled £40,000, together with a 1713 Half Guinea for £3500, a British auction record for that date.
